“I’m innocent until proven guilty” D’banj reacts to rape scandal with new video

Embattled Nigeria’s popular singer, D’banj has released a dance video in reaction to the rape scandal that has engulfed him.

Sharing the video, he reminded everyone that he is still innocent until a competent court finds him guilty of the accusation against him.

A lady named Seyitan Babalola had accused the singer of sexually violating her in December, 2018. Days after he made the accusation, she demanded an open apology from the singer otherwise she will take legal action against him.

In reaction, D’banj wrote through his lawyers, demanding N100 million, a published apology and retraction of her statement or face legal action in 48 hours.

However, Nigerians called out the singer when news went round that his team had arrested Seyitan, detained her and denied her access to her family, friends and lawyers, with the help of policemen loyal D’banj. He was called out for trying to silence his accuser instead of going through the legal channel to prove his innocence.

In the video he released today on social media, the embattled singer danced and sang to one of his hit songs. He captioned the video:

“Innocent until proven guilty…., STOP SOCIAL MEDIA TRIAL 🏛🏛🏛⚖️⚖️⚖️ #SAY NO TO RAPE AND HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION”
