Just In: Imo Govt arrest, detain Okorocha’s loyalists, tag them IPOB members

Some loyalist of Senator Rochas Okorocha have been reported arrested and detained by the Police command in Imo State on the instruction of the state Government who accused them of being members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In a post shared on Facebook on Tuesday, an Okorocha’s loyalist, Darlington Ibekwe raised an alarm that:

“So many people from Senator Okorocha’s political family and staunch supporters are being arrested in Owerri and labelled IPOB by the state government in conjunction with the police.

“Hon. Frank Onwumere, Casmir Ugbor and his wife, Ojukwu Ukonu just to mention a few are currently being tried at Shell Camp Police Court, the government is in a hurry to arraign them that’s why it’s happening at Shell Camp Police Court, the judiciary proper has been on strike for some weeks now.

“Uzodinma’s led government is playing petty politics in Imo and trying it’s best to link the insecurity in Imo to Senator Okorocha.”

Frank Onwumere is one of the embattled elected Local Government Chairmen suspended by Imo state Government. He was elected Chairman of Okigwe LGA in 2018 during the administration of former governor Rochas Okorocha.
