Man blames specialist hospital for wife’s death

A man identified as Jeremiah Akinsetemi has called out the management and medical practitioners of the Faith-Hills Specialist Hospital for inefficiency and negligence in practice. He said these had caused the death of his wife, Rachael, who got delivered of a baby at the hospital in the Egbeda area of Lagos State.

According to him, the hospital could not save his wife who was facing post-natal bleeding because they did not even have a blood bank. Thus, they only transfused the small pint of blood they had left in the hospital.

Dr Lilian Obianuju, Managing Director of the Hospital where Rachael gave birth, reacted to the claims of Jeremiah, explaining that Rachael was experiencing a reduction in fetal movement at the time she was brought to the hospital.

Obianuju added that though the couple was informed that she would have to undergo Caesarean Section (CS) for delivery, they refused. According to the MD, the couple left the hospital on 10th February but returned 8 weeks later.
