Odumeje: Igbo leaders apologize to Pericoma’s family and Community

As the dispute between Controversial Onitsha-based prophet, Chukwuemeka Ohanemere popularly known as Odumeje, and the people of Arondizuogu, continues to linger, Igbo leaders have come out to mediate and apologise on behalf of the prophet.

On 6 May, a video had surfaced on social media where Odumeje could be heard saying Pericoma’s children are of no use to the society and also that the People of Arondizuogu are very poor over their involvement in fetish practices

Infuriated by Odumeje’s comments, Omor Perry, one of the sons of Late Pericoma dared the project to a challenge. He told Odumeje to choose a time and venue for them to go into a spiritual fight and put their powers to test.

In a follow up, villagers and elder were later seen in a viral video sitting at a shrine while a young native doctor performed Rituals against Prophet Odumeje.

The native Doctor called on all their gods to come out and fight prophet Odumeje for condemning it.

He further accused prophet Odumeje of getting his power from India, adding that he cannot get his power from a foreign land and test it on their Own Land.

The native doctor then went further to up a fowl which he claimed had been invoked with the spirit of the prophet.

To mediate between to challenging factions, Igbo leaders, who are representatives of Orsu Local Government Area stakeholders, have in a letter, apologised on behalf of the prophet.

In the letter – which the state governor, Hope Uzodinma was copied – the leaders urged the affected parties to bury their hatchet for peace to reign.

While apologising on behalf of the prophet, the Orsu Local Government Area stakeholders, noted that there will be an interface between the two affected parties once the coronavirus lockdown is over.
