Other parties have so much to learn from APGA – Ngozi Clara Opara says after successful screening

Ngozi Clara Opara, a 2023 House of Assembly aspirant for Mbaitoli Constituency in Imo State, has called on other political parties to learn from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on how to conduct a credible screening exercise.

The blogger cum politician who was among the aspirants screened by the party on Wednesday, April 27 praised the leadership of the party at the national and state levels for ensuring that the exercise was conducted in a smooth manner.

In her words, “I applaud the Screening committee made of Barr Tex Okechukwu, National Publicity Secretary of APGA; Alhaji Kabiru Usman, deputy youths leader and Barrister(Dr) Stella Ezenwa; for doing a great job.

“I also specially want to commend the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. John Iwuala and members of the State Working Committee for making sure there was due diligence during the screening. In many ways, the state chairman played the role of a father to all the aspirants and stood up for us when it was necessary.

“In other parties, you see aspirants go through untold and unnecessary hardships just to get through screened. But, during the APGA screening today, we see the committee and State working committee setting outside anything that will bring disunity and conflicts, to make sure that aspirants are well protected and encouraged.

“This is something other parties should take a cue from to ensure internal democracy and healthy political atmosphere for aspirants. It is only when there is internal democracy that the best can emerge from a party and presented to the people.”
