#ShameonNTA: Nigerians slam poor coverage of Super Eagles vs Squirrels’ match

Nigerians were disappointed at the coverage of the Super Eagles African Cup of Nations qualifiers match against the Squirrels of Benin which was played on Wednesday evening, November 13th. .

To express their displeasure, they launched the Twitter hashtag #ShameonNTA  to blast the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) for the ‘poor live coverage’ of the match played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Akwa Ibom.

The hashtag went viral Wednesday night on Twitter and kept trending till Thursday morning.

NTA was saddled with the responsibility of broadcasting the AFCON qualifying match yesterday, after SuperSports announced it would no longer continue broadcasting any Confederation of African Football content after the sudden cancellation of the deal between the continent’s football governing body and French company, Lagadere Sports.

One of the videos which captured the NTA’s disappointing outing showed the moment the commentator said the game ended “Super Eagles 2, Nigeria 1.
