Six suspects arrested by vigilantes in Anambra for vandalizing EEDC facilities

A vigilante group in Anambra State has made an arrest on six persons at different locations concerning alleged destruction of facilities belonging to the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) in the state.

Head pf Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr Emeka Ezeh, confirmed the arrests and said the vandals were making it increasingly difficult to render services to customers.

One Amadi Okey was arrested while vandalising steel and copper wire. Another suspect, Onyekachukwu Ifennadolu, 26, was arrested for vandalising aluminum bare conductor at Umueri Ezumeri village, Oraifite, along the Onitsha/Owerri road.

Chidiebere Agbalusi, 27, was arrested at Oraifite in possession of vandalised aluminum cable and a cutter, while the duo of Usulu Solomon and Nwafo Emeka were arrested for vandalizing about 16 spans of bare conductor wire.

Another suspect mentioned by the aforementioned, Ejike Nwoba, was also arrested on claims receiving the vandalized items.
