Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger state has said that one of the ways to stop the activities of bandits in the state is to take care of them because some of the bandits are already tired of their actions.
Bello was speaking to the press after the kidnap of 27 students in the state when he was asked, “With the recent happening, what is the best way forward towards finding lasting solution to these problems.”
He answered:
“Our immediate priority is the get the kidnapped victims released. After that I think we much have a lasting solution to the farmer/herdsmen conflict.
“I also understand some of these bandits are tired. They need to be looked after. We need to train them, engage them.”
