A catechist identified as Sydney Shirsha and two others have been reported killed by suspected armed Fulani Herdsmen at Amudu village in Giza chiefdom, Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The attackers reportedly stormed Amudu, a Tiv village in Giza Development Area, at midnight on Saturday, May 15 and caused mayhem that lead to the death of the victims..
According to reports, several others sustained various degrees of gunshot injury during the attack. Hundreds of locals also fled the area following the attack.
The president of the Tiv Development Association (TIDA) in Nasarawa State, Comrade Peter Ahemba, who confirmed the incident, lamented constant attacks on his people.
Taking to Facebook, the President of Lafia Diocesan Catechist Association, Tarkunde Vitalis shared graphic photos from the scene and wrote;
“With pains in my heart,I announce the death of catechist Shirsha Sidneys. He was murdered in his house -Tse- Amudu Keana LGA Nasarawa state by SUSPECTED Fulani herdsmen along one other person with many others injured.
May God grant him eternal rest.
