Tension as protesters lock works minister Umahi in his office

Minister of works, Dave Umahi, was restricted by protesting workers at the Ministry of Works in his office on Thursday, September 28.

Umahi was indicted by the staff for rejecting their fellow staff who where late for work from entering the ministry.

The union members in the Housing and Works Ministry agreed to locking up the ministry, which resulted to the restriction of entrance and exit from the building, hence Umahi who is in the building remains in the building. He is not exempted.

Their claim is that Umahi, “stopped engineers and directors from doing their work, and has been breaking public service rules since his appointment, by bringing in consultants to run the affairs of the ministry.”
