President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna state reportedly sought the support of Ibrahim El Zakzaky before their elections in 2015.
The photos below show when president Buhari and Governor El Rufai visited the leader of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzaky in 2014, before Buhari and El Rufai won the 2015 elections as president and governor respectively.
In 2019, the Nigerian government under the administration of President Buhari outlawed the IMN while El Zakzaky, their leader, is being tried in Kaduna state.
