Thugs attack Deji Adeyanju, others protesters demanding Sowore’s Release In Abuja

Activist Deji Adeyanju and other members of civil society organisation (CSOs) demanding for the release of Omoyele Sowore were attacked by thugs today, Monday during a protest in Abuja.

The ugly incident happened at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The thugs reportedly unleashed violence on the protesters and journalists at the NHRC headquarters in the course of presenting a letter of protest to the commission.

Deji Adeyanju, convener of Concerned Nigerians and some others have been rushed to a hospital for treatment of varying degrees of injury they sustained during the attack.

Recall that Operatives of Department of State Services arrested Omoyele Sowore on December 6 a few hours after he was releeased having spent 124 days in custody.

Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters is charged with insulting President Muhammadu Buhari, treasonable felony and money laundering.
