President Bola Tinubu has replaced a female ministerial nominee, Maryam Shetty, choosing two others, including Festus Keyamo and Dr Mariga Mahmoud.
This was revealed when Senate President Godswill Akpabio read out a letter by the President at Friday’s plenary session.
The reason for this replacement has not been known as at the time of this report. We await further clarification. Whatever the reason, this will not sit well with most Nigerians especially the female folk and gender equality advocates, as there are very few women in the earlier ministerial list submitted by the president.
