Tonto Dikeh, Hilda Dokubo, Stephanie Coker, Warri Pikin & others protest against rape in Lagos, Abuja (Photos)

Some Nigerian female celebrities staged a peaceful protest against rape in Lagos and Abuja yesterday.

The protests were necessitated by the rise in report of rape cases in Nigeria, prompting many to speak up against the act.

The female celebrities took to the streets to call for justice, demanding prompt actions from lawmakers on the increasing rate of rape and injustice.

Nollywood actresses, Tonto Dikeh, Hilda Dokubo, comedian Real Warri Pikin, TV personalities, Bolanle Olukanni and Stephanie Coker, were among the notable faces who joined in the #StandToEndRapeProtest.

Tonto shared photos on her social media page, showing her carrying a placard, protesting against rape which she captioned;

“Earlier today I joined @realwarripikin and others amazing NGO’s to hold a PEACEFUL PROTEST AGAINST GENDER BASES VOILENCE, RAPE AND MURDER OF OUR YOUNG GIRLS AND WOMEN.. TODAY WE SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”

Stephanie Coker wrote: “Let’s keep the same energy Online & Offline. . .
We are the change we want to see. What change do you want to see? #stateofemergencygbv #saynotorape #wearetired @standtoendrape”
