Twitter needs to shutdown from Nigerian internet space for removing Buhari’s tweet – Adamu Garba

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has called for the shutting down of Twitter from the Nigeria’s internet space after the social media giant removed an offensive tweet from President Muhammadu Buhari’s handle.

Twitter took out the tweet on Wednesday after many Nigerians reported that the tweet which made reference to the civil war was a threat to Igbos.

Adamu in his reaction posted on his Twitter handle said,

”Twitter has no right to infuse into our local political affairs. It’s a company not a government. By removing our democratically elected President’s speech to the people of Nigeria, Twitter need to shutdown from Nigerian internet space. Twitter need to get out of Nigeria.”
