Uzodinma set to conduct Imo LG elections, Nominates ISIEC Chairman

The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has nominated Pauline Onyeka to be confirmed as Chairman of Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC).

This comes as an indication of his readiness to conduct local government elections in the state anytime soon.

In a letter sent to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday, the governor requested a legislative backing to constitute ISIEC.

Reading the letter from the governor during plenary on Tuesday, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Collins Chiji said that Governor Uzodinma, urged the legislature to approve the appointment of chairman and members of the Imo state Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC).

Other members nominated to alongside Pauline Onyeka are: Henry Adimelechi, Ezeukwu, Jacinta Uchechukwu and John Ohiri

The speaker appointed Authur Egwim (Ideato North) as the chairman of the screening committee of the nominees. The speaker also urged the ad-hoc committee to report to the house on Thursday.
