Video: Moment police officers hug protesters as they leave Canada’s border

Alberta police officers shook hands and hugged protesters who were heading home from the Canada/US border, after paralyzing the crossing for more than two weeks.

According to a RCMP spokesperson, the Freedom Convoy left voluntarily, one day after local law enforcement arrested 13 people and seized firearms and ammunition

Protesters, mainly truckers, were protesting Covid-19 restrictions in Canada, which require them to be fully vaccinated or undergo quarantine every time they cross the US border. Since 29 January, they blockaded the Ambassador Bridge which connects Windsor, Ontario to Detroit, Michigan – creating heavy economic losses and angering officials on both sides of the border.

In the video, the protesters seem to be making peace with the law enforcements.
