Despite hearing of the death of his wife, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo bravely went on to officiate the burial of a 25-year-old Ayodeji Johnson who died on June 12.
Ibidun Ighodalo, a former beauty queen and business woman, had died in Port Harcourt this morning of reported cardiac arrest in her hotel room.
While speaking at the burial ceremony, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo said “…i really shouldn’t be here but that is how life is. At 2am this morning, i received a call that shattered me but life goes on…”
Ibidun who was to mark her 40th birthday on July 19, 2020 was said to have been in Bayelsa and Rivers states helping with the building of isolation centres for COVID-19 patients.
On behalf of her family, Asue Ighodalo officially released a statement, saying;
“The Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families are deeply saddened to announce the sudden loss of our beloved wife and daughter Mrs. Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo who passed away in the early hours of today.
“As you will understand, this is a difficult time for our families and we will appreciate some privacy during this time. All information of burial proceedings will be provided in due course.”
Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and Ibidunni were married for 13 years after his first marriage ended. He was previously married to Lucy-Ann Summer, a fellow professional. He disclosed that Ann refused to join him in Nigeria and left after persuasion failed. “Because the expectations from the marriage were not met, she met someone else that met those expectations,” he explained.
Ituah and Ibidun share two kids they adopted.
