Video: The brilliant answer that gave SA’s Zozibini Tunzi the Miss Universe Crown

It’s no longer news that 26-year-old South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi has been crowned Miss Universe 2019.

The beauty queen beat 89 other contestants to be crowned the new Miss Universe during the pageant held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.

Making it to the final three was really impressive for South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi; Puerto Rico’s Madison Anderson as well as Mexico’s Sofia Aragon. At this point, one question was left for the three top beauty queens. You can call it the deciding question.

The host, Steve Harvey, asked each of the,, “What is the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today?”

Zozibini Tunzi’s brilliant reply got everyone in the crowd cheering. Her response was:

“I think the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today is leadership. It’s been something that has been lacking in young girls and women for a very long time. Not because we don’t want to, but because of what society has labelled women to be.

“I think we are the most powerful being on the world. And we should be given every opportunity. That is what we should be teaching these young girls. To take up space. Nothing is as important as taking up space in society.”
