The Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha has dubunked the rumour going round since yesterday that the government denied Senator Hope Uzodinma access to the Dan Anyiam Stadium.

The candidate of All Pregressives Congress, Hope Uzodinma is kicking off his campaign today in Owerri. His campaign team has alleged since yesterday, that the forces from the government refused to give them access to the state stadium that they originally planned to use. In a statement released this morning, however, the governor said the stadium should be open for free to all political parties who wishes to use it. Read the full text below:

GOVERNMENT OF IMO STATE, PRESS RELEASE

In Continuation of his glaring high level Political tolerance since he became the governor of the State in 2011, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has directed that the Dan Anyiam Stadium should be released to Political Parties or Candidates wishing to do their rallies or carry out other Political activities at the Stadium free of any charge.

However, those using the Stadium should ensure its cleanliness and the protection of the facilities at the Stadium considering the huge amount the government had spent to rebuilt and service the Stadium.

The governor has taken this step to continue to promote healthy Political environment in the State and also in demonstration of his unbridled Political tolerance and that of his administration.

Sam Onwuemeodo
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor
