Breaking: Sanusi sues IG, DSS DG; Gets a Visit from Governor Sule

Embattled Muhammadu Sanusi II has finally filed a suit at Federal High Court in Abuja seeking an order for his release from forced isolated exile after he was dethroned as Emir of Kano by Governor Ganduje.

His team of lawyers led by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), on Thursday, filed a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/357/2020, suing the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of Department of State Services (DSS) for keeping him in illegal detention.

Sanusi was taken to Awe in Nasarawa State and he has been detained in a two-bedroom apartment in the town.

Meanwhile, reports coming in now have it that the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule and Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Sidi Bage have visited Sanusi in Awe.

The Governor arrived 30 minutes after the traditional ruler, a retired justice of the Appeal Court.

Governor Sule arrived at around 5 pm and is at present meeting with Sanusi under tight security.

The visits by two prominent Nasarawa sons debunked speculations on the social media, that the deposed emir had been moved out of Awe to Lagos.

Sanusi’s visitors are being screened with those who are unable to successfully convince the security operatives on their mission being turned back.

A detachment of policemen, civil defence and some soldiers are providing security are on guard just before the bungalow where Sanusi has been confined to.

No vehicle or motorcycle is allowed to pass in front of the house, while the security operatives are also on the look out for journalists.

It was gathered that operatives of Police Explosive Ordinances Department were deployed to join the security operatives on Thursday morning.

  1. This power play on a most polished, very civilized person, Emir Sanusi is a very dangerous one. It is a pity that a man like Amino Kano is no longer alife. He would have single handedly taught Ganduje a very big lesson. Ganduje wouldn’t have been able to bribe him. I joined millions of people all over the world to without delay release Sanusi. No harm should touch him. I joined Wole Soyinka to condemn this wicked act. Moreso, as Mr President has too much security troubles which he has not been able to solve, like Boko Haram , Fulani headsmen etc. ” Those whom the God’s want to destroy will be first made mad”. I don’t know why Bihari has only persons who know how to fight, tell lies and make trouble any how and any where are in his team- a President who wants Nigeria to be balanced and corruption free. People must stop intimidating our Royal father’s please. If you know you can not respect them because of your 4 or 8 years tenure , please do not contest elections.
