Good news! Oyo discharges first coronavirus case after patient made full recovery

The Oyo government has announced that the state’s index coronavirus case has been discharged from the state’s isolaton center after the patient tested negative for the second time on Monday March 30th. 

The patient underwent treatment at the Agbami Chest Hospital which is being used as isolation centre in Ibadan.

Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Seyi Makinde, Mr Taiwo Adisa said in a statement, “The American returnee had initially tested negative only for the second test to read positive.

“The index case had been on self-isolation at a private residence in Ibadan until he was transferred to the Isolation centre at Agbami, Jericho area of Ibadan on March 23.

“The index case was released after two consecutive negative tests”

At the moment, Oyo state has confirmed a total of 8 cases, including the governor, Seyi Makinde who disclosed that he also tested positive for the virus.
