Imo PDP woman leader rejects Uzodinma’s juicy appointment, Party reacts

Lady Ndidi Onyemachi, a leader in the People Democratic Party (PDP) from Ohaji/Egbema Local Government area of Imo State on Monday rejected the appointment offered to her by the Governor Hope Uzodinma.

Uzodinma recently approved the appointment of Ndidi Onyemachi as a member of the State Committee on Local Content Compliance, following the recommendation of Rt Hon Goodluck Nana Opiah, a former Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and member representing Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta, Oru West in the House of Representatives.

However, Onyemachi rejected the appointment, saying, “I, Hon. Lady Ndidi Onyemachi, hereby officially reject the offer as announced on the 15th January, 2021.

“I am not a member of Imo APC. I am a leader in Imo PDP, hence, can’t dump my party for whatsoever reason or offer.

“My loyalty as a PDP member and leader in Ohaji/Egbema remains undiluted.

“I remain committed to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri, who are my dependable leaders in Imo PDP.”

Thanking Opiah for recommending her, she said:

“I appreciate the love and concern of my elder brother and leader, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nana Opiah, for recognizing and recommending my humble self for an appointment into the APC government as member of the State Committee on Local Content Compliance”

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State have praised Ndidi Onyemachi for her loyalty to the party shown in her rejection of an appointment given to her by Imo State Government under the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement released on Monday, January 18, by Ogu Bundu Nwadike, the Imo PDP acting Publicity Secretary, the party was proud “when Hon. Lady Ndidi Onyemachi, a leader in Ohaji-Egbema PDP publicly rejected the appointment offered her by Senator Hope Uzodimma.”

Nwadike described Onyemachi’s action as “patriotic response” that “is very much appreciated by Imo PDP.”
