Kidnapped former Nasarawa Deputy Governor set free

Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, a Former Deputy Governor of Nassarawa State abducted by unidentified armed men on Friday, April 7, has been set free.

This was confirmed by DSP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state confirmed this to the Press on Monday, 10th April, in Lafia.

Expressive Info reported that Gye-Wado was kidnapped at his residence in Wamba L.G.A.

The PPRO said the former deputy governor regained freedom at about 9:00 pm on Sunday and is again with his family.

Nansel added that though the suspects have not been apprehended, there is no report to the Police that any ransom was paid. Instead, he claimed that Gye-Wado was released because the kidnappers caved in to steady pressure from security agencies.
