The former minister of education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili who is also the former vice chairman of world bank, has lamented over what she described as embarrassment that President Bola Tinubu has put Nigerians through.
She made this statement on her social media handle, X, on Tuesday, October 3.
Prior to the order made by Justice Nancy Maldonado, to Chicago State University on the release of President Tinubu’s records to Atiku Abubakar, which was to happen on the 2nd and 3rd of October.
Court had ordered CSU to release Tinubu’s academic results against his resistance for Atiku to win the court case.
Dr. Oby lamented on how Nigeria and its people would have been saved from such embarrassment of the release.
She explained that it could affect the foreigners’ view of us.
Dr Ezekwesili said, “How so much easier it would have been for Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to have saved the country and people the embarrassment of this Chicago State University -CSU court case by instantly and voluntarily asking the institution to publish his academic credentials!”
“How difficult could that have been?
How so less traumatic such exemplary disclosure to remove all doubts would have been for Nigerians,” she asked no one in particular on her social media handle.
“Like most Nigerians, it is profoundly embarrassing to field mocking questions on this matter that strikes at the heart of our National Integrity from foreigners”.
“Our Public Leaders of a certain genre despise Transparency and yet it is an antidote to fiascos like this one,” she said.
She spoke nothing but the truth as she expressed her disappointment towards the disposal.
She encouraged citizens to, “uncompromisingly demand a root and branch reform of the entire electoral and judicial systems.”
It is very shameful to all Nigerians already, that throughout the world our president is know as a world class criminal. It’s already a big embarrassment to us. The National Assembly ( the two chambers) should bend their heads in shame for not initiating impeachment proceedings against Tinubu by now. It’s a legislative process different and not against the proceedings pending in the court.
The embarrassment is enough for this man to be removed from office.
