Renowned Nigerian novelist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has lost her mother, Mrs. Grace Ifeoma Adichie.
She died on Monday, March 1, in Awka, Anambra State, aged 78.
“It was very sudden and we are devastated,” a family spokesperson said according to Guardian.
She is survived by her six children: Ijeoma, Uchenna, Chuks, Okechukwu, Chimamanda and Kenechukwu; as well as nine grandchildren, in-laws and many relatives.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by her family later.
Recall that Chimamanda lost her father, Professor James Nwoye Adichie, on June 11, 2020. He was laid to rest in Abba, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra on October 9, 2020.
