We are working to restore access to Nigerians – Twitter assures

Social Media giant, Twitter has revealed that the company is working to restore access to Nigerians who have been denied access to the platform due to the suspension from Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Nigerian Government banned the platform on Friday after the microblogging platform deleted an outrageous tweet shared by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Twitter account.

Since Saturday morning, telecoms operators in Nigeria denied their subscribers access to Twitter following an order from FG.

We are deeply concerned by the blocking of Twitter in Nigeria. Access to the free and #OpenInternet is an essential human right in modern society.

“We will work to restore access for all those in Nigeria who rely on Twitter to communicate and connect with the world. #KeepitOn” Twitter Public Policy shared on Saturday.
