WTO: European Parliament endorses Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for DG

Former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who is Nigeria’s candidate for World Trade Organisation (WTO) Director-General position has gotten the endorsement of the European Parliament.

The 66-year-old economist with a 25-year career as a development economist at the World Bank, made it to the final stage of the DG race and has Korean Yoo Myun-hee as her last challenger.

While acknowledging the endorsement shared by Sven Simon, Member of EU Parliament, Okonjo-Iweala wrote:
